HK Optical Fair 2025: Smart Tech, Sustainability & Fresh Design Talent Shine – MyGlassesAndMe

[ad_1]

The 33rd Hong Kong International Optical Fair wrapped up with a buzz, drawing around 12,000 buyers from 92 countries. This year’s big themes? Smart eyewear tech, eco-friendly innovation, and a focus on the “silver” market – plus a healthy dose of standout design.

Global Connections

The fair proved its global pull, with buyers from across Asia, the US, and Europe hunting for the latest in eyewear. Over 200 brands, from industry icons like STEPPER, Masunaga, and Ted Baker to fresh faces from France, Japan, and beyond, packed the Brand Name Gallery area of the show.

Tech Meets Sustainability

Smart glasses were a real talking point and they were absolutely everywhere at the show. Many different functions were on the table too – think auto-focusing lenses, built-in audio and real time translation targeting both everyday users and the growing older demographic. Sustainability was still going strong this year, with companies like Winky International spotlighting biodegradable frames and recycled materials. Big deals were in the air, with some exhibitors reporting seven-figure orders.

New Design Talent

The 25th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition celebrated local creativity, with winners blending tradition, tech, and real-world problem-solving – like glasses that alert families if the wearer falls.

Hybrid Networking

The fair’s hybrid model Click2Match let buyers and suppliers connect online and offline, keeping business flowing even after the show closed. The Click2Match platform will be available until 14th November so, even though the show has ended, business can still continue a little longer.
