Discover the Nicola Bizzarri Goggles capsule

VANNI Eyewear has revealed its newest artistic collaboration, the Goggles collection, during Artissima 2025, Turin’s celebrated international contemporary art fair.

Conceived together with Nicola Bizzarri, winner of last year’s VANNI #artistroom prize, this limited-edition capsule transforms industrial inspiration into sculptural eyewear design.

Presented at VANNI’s Turin showroom in partnership with Fuocherello Gallery, the Goggles collection reflects the brand’s ongoing dialogue between artistic experimentation and eyewear craftsmanship, where each frame becomes both a tool and a statement piece.

VANNI Eyewear Artissima:

Materiality, Function, and Form

The VANNI Goggles collection features three limited-edition acetate sunglasses in mineral green, iron red, and cobalt grey. Drawing inspiration from protective industrial eyewear, the design plays with volume, transparency, and the raw beauty of functional form. Every component is intentionally exposed, elevating utility into aesthetics of precision.

This structural honesty echoes Bizzarri’s conceptual approach, where eyewear becomes an extension of the artist’s craft. As he explains, “These glasses are meant to be used, just as they were made.” Each pair is hand-numbered and signed by the artist, underscoring its collectible nature.

A Continuing Dialogue Between Art and Eyewear

The Goggles capsule marks another milestone in VANNI’s commitment to contemporary art, initiated through the #artistroom prize, which each year grants an emerging artist the opportunity to reinterpret eyewear through their own creative lens. Previous winners include Cristian Chironi, Catalin Pislaru, Teresa Giannico, and Elisa Alberti, whose collaborations have produced some of VANNI’s most conceptually striking collections.

With “Goggles”, VANNI Eyewear and Nicola Bizzarri continue this legacy of merging the poetic and the practical, reaffirming that eyewear can be both object and artwork, a tangible expression of vision itself.

VANNI Eyewear is an eyewear brand from Turin, Italy, that specializes in creating artisanally crafted frames with a focus on innovative design, vivid colors, and unparalleled Italian craftsmanship. Since its founding in 1990, VANNI has become a symbol of modern elegance, offering eyewear that combines creativity and technical excellence.

TRANSPARENCY is one of their founding values and for Vanni it means being able to tell and trace every step of the production process, which of course all takes place in Italy.

This choice allows them to enhance and export the concept of Made in Italy and Italian ‘savoir-faire’ all over the world, as well as to significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

Thinking and producing in an eco-compatible way means prioritizing the protection of our relationship with nature, today and in the future. Translated into industry chain terms, this means controlling every phase of the production process, responsibly.

The materials of the VANNI glasses are processed in a way that limits waste, slowing down the production of moulds and equipment, limiting packaging, using recyclable materials as much as possible.
