[ad_1]
If you’re in the eyewear industry, the Hong Kong International Optical Fair is always a highlight if you ask me – but this year’s 33rd edition (5–7 November 2025) it is a must-attend event. With over 660 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions, the fair is set to showcase the latest in smart tech, senior vision care, cutting-edge design, and sustainability all under one roof at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Expanding the Global Eyewear Network
This year, the fair’s international reach is bigger than ever. Making their debut are the ASEAN Pavilion and Zhejiang Pavilion, plus first-time exhibitors from Indonesia, Russia, and Vietnam- further expanding the show’s global footprint. Expect to connect with industry leaders from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, including France, Germany, Italy, the US, and more, as well as a strong showing from Greater China.
The ten dedicated group pavilions, including the much-anticipated “Visionaries of Style,” will spotlight both global brands and local innovators , offering a window into the future of optical fashion and manufacturing.
Spotlight on Innovation, Senior Care, and Sustainability
This year’s fair is themed “Bright Eyes • New Horizons,” reflecting the industry’s push towards smart technology, healthcare, and sustainability. From AI-powered eyewear and Halal-certified frames to eco-friendly 3D-printed designs, exhibitors are bringing their A-game to meet the evolving needs of both consumers and practitioners.
The numbers speak for themselves: Hong Kong’s eyewear exports hit HK$13.7 billion in the first eight months of 2025, with the EU, US, and Chinese Mainland leading the way. Exports to the Mainland surged by 23%—proof that innovation, quality, and design remain Hong Kong’s competitive edge.
Industry Expertise on Show
The fair isn’t just about products, it’s a hub for knowledge sharing and professional development. The 23rd Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium (6 November) will focus on “Age Well, See Well: Redefining Eye Care for the Golden Age,” with experts from Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, and the UK tackling topics like age-related vision, diabetic retinopathy, and cognitive impairment. The symposium is CPD-accredited, making it a valuable opportunity for practitioners to stay ahead.
Meanwhile, the 25th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition celebrates the theme “Blending Tradition and Technology,” with both Open and Student Groups competing. Winning and shortlisted designs will be on display – don’t miss the chance to see the next wave of Hong Kong eyewear talent.
Hybrid Connections for a New Era
This year, EXHIBITION+ returns, blending online and offline networking. The Click2Match platform lets buyers and exhibitors connect before, during, and after the event, while Scan2Match makes it easy to bookmark favourite suppliers and access product info on the go.
